Cart Rules:
Upon start of play check the signs that are the posted at the tee boxes on Hole 1 and 10. The signs will indicated whether carts are to stay on the cart paths or allowed on designated fairways.  When carts are allowed on fairway the carts must enter and exit the fairways at the white enter and exit posts. When leaving the cart path, advance directly to the fairway by the shortest distance possible through the rough. Do not park carts or drive carts on the rough except when entering or exiting the fairways.

Cart Rules must be followed at all times! To operate golf carts you must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver's license.  Only two people may ride in a golf cart at one time, however, more than two sets of clubs may be carried on one cart. In the essence of maintaining the golf course in the best possible condition, the number of carts per group shall be limited to the minimum number of carts needed to accommodate each group of golfers. (e.g.) 2 carts for 3 or 4 people if they are all riders. Friday night couples are an exception since 3 carts are needed to accommodate 6 people.

Golf Carts shall only be permitted off the paths when the course is in suitable condition in the opinion of the Golf Professional and the Green Superintendent.  Damage to golf carts because of negligent behavior will be the responsibility of the member. Members are responsible for the behavior and actions of their guests.

Wherever possible replace your divots. Sand buckets are included with each cart, if divot is disintegrated place sand in your fairway divot.

NOTE: Under normal playing conditions an average round should be 4 hours and 15 minutes. Pace of play for each group will be recorded on weekends and holidays. Monitor your pace of play with the pace of play times shown on the scorecard. Violation of the normal pace of play will be referred to the Golf Committee and acted upon as appropriate.

Handicap Rules:
All members wishing to participate in LFCC net golf tournaments must have an established USGA Handicap.

Two basic premises underlie the USGA Handicap System, namely that each player will try to make the best score at every hole in every round, regardless where the round is played, and that the player will post every acceptable round for peer review. The player and LFCC’s Handicap Committee have joint responsibility for adhering to these premises.

For 2006, posting of scores will begin on March 4 and run through the end of October. Below are some guidelines for proper posting procedures. If you have any questions, your Pro Shop Staff will be glad assist you. You may also send your questions to golf@lakeforestgolf.com.

Incomplete holes - An incomplete hole is a hole in which a player starts but does not finish. For handicap purposes you must record your “most likely score” for that hole. The most likely score consists of the number of strokes already taken plus, in the players best judgment, the number of strokes the player would need to take to complete the hole from that position more than half the time.
Incomplete rounds - An incomplete round of golf is a round where a player does not complete all eighteen holes. If 13 or more holes are played, the player must post an 18-hole score. If 7-12 holes are played, the player must post a nine-hole score. In either case, scores for unplayed holes must be recorded as par plus any handicap strokes the player is entitled to receive on the unplayed holes.
Score adjustment (Equitable Stroke Control) - After completion of a round a player is required to adjust their score. The adjustment table is above the handicap computer in the golf shop. This table shows the maximum score per hole a player may take according to their handicap for the set of tees played.

HANDICAP MAXIMUM SCORE PER HOLE
9 or less Double bogey
10 - 19 7
20 - 29 8
30 - 39 9
40 - 49 10
Tournament Scores – The Handicap Committee will designate which competitions at LFCC require a tournament round, or “T” round, to be posted. The Committee will post all scores designated as Tournament rounds. If you are not sure if a round played should be designated as a Tournament Score, please contact the Pro Shop for guidance or email the Handicap Committee at golf@lakeforestgolf.com
